With the 2021 Ram Heavy Duty, FCA US LLC becomes the first and only manufacturer to offer a heavy-duty Special Service Vehicle (SSV) package for government and emergency responder fleets, in addition to the light-duty Ram 1500 Classic Special Service Vehicle. This package includes a Vehicle System Interface Module (VSIM), a 220-amp alternator, instrument panel-mounted auxiliary switches, dash pass through wire circuits and the Protection Group (also available on the Ram 1500 Classic Special Service Vehicle), which includes tow hooks and skid plates for the transfer case and front suspension. This package is available on the Ram 2500 and 3500 Tradesman® Regular and Crew Cab 4x4 models.
